Ambitious Toolstation Northern Counties East League Premier Division club Handsworth Parramore have announced the signings of Jack McCarthy and Mitch Dunne.

The Ambers have bolstered the squad with the signings of two of the best young prospects in the NCEL in bringing 20-year-old versatile defender McCarthy from Liversedge and 20-year-old forward Dunne back to the club from Shirebrook Town.

Rotherham-based McCarthy has featured for Salford City, Hyde United, Garforth Town, Goole AFC and more recently at fellow NCEL Premier side Liversedge, and showed a great desire to join the Ambers once interest in him was made known.

Dunne is no stranger to the Ambers. Last season’s under-19 leading scorer, he rejoins the Ambers after a spell at Shirebrook that saw him hit 8 goals and is their current top scorer.

Club development manager Steve Holmes said of the double swoop: “Mitch and Jack are two great prospects who have impressed greatly in their respective sides in the NCEL this year. Both lads are hungry and keen to push on and showed great desire to join up with Mick Godber and his management team.
Our job now is to turn their potential into consistent week in week out performances, something that we as club have a great record of doing with young prospects, these are two great signings for the club”.
