Evo-Stik League Southern Division One Central club Farnborough have announced that it has terminated the contract of Eddie Smith – and it’s all down to a holiday!

Smith joined Boro in the summer from Southern Premier Division side Slough Town where he scored a total of 95 goals in 149 games.

Smith’s previous clubs include Fleet Town, Aylesbury FC, Chertsey Town and Metropolitan Police.

Manager Spencer Day said: “Sadly, Eddie recently booked a holiday for the last few weeks of the season and therefore isn’t available for our preparation for the play-offs and it’s best that we part company.

“As much as we appreciate that football is not the number one priority in players lives, we also have to find a fair balance for the club`s interests.

“We thank Eddie for his time at Farnborough and wish him all the best for the future”.
