After a short spell with Ryman League Premier Division club East Thurrock United, David Collis contacted Craig…..

….Edwards, manager of Blue Square Bet South club Billericay Town and asked if he could return to New Lodge.

The burly midfielder, who started as a trainee at Charlton Athletic in June 2000, played one League match on loan at Barnet in April 2001, and then joined Grays Athletic in May 2002.

He has also served Redbridge, Thurrock, Bishop’s Stortford and Billericay before joining AFC Hornchurch in October 2010.

He returned to Billericay in November 2011 before switching to East Thurrock last month.

“It was an easy decision to accept,” said Edwards. “David has played for me on and off since he was a lad, so we know each other well.”

Edwards went on to say he was disappointed that Collis left, but they have drawn a line under it now and its business as usual.

Also joining Billericay is teenage defender Ricardo Santos, who has joined on loan from npower League Two neighbours Dagenham & Redbridge until the end of the season.

Both are expected to be included in the squad for Tuesday’s trip to Havant & Waterlooville.
