Sunday`s Buildbase FA Trophy Preliminary Round ties saw Evo-Stik League South club Corby Town win again under caretaker-manager Steve Kinniburgh.

The Steelmen beat league rivals Romulus 2-0 at Coles Lane, thanks to a brace of penalties converted by Sam Mulready.

The first came 3 minutes into the second half after he had been brought down, and the second was 10 minutes from time for handball.

The win also represented the Steelmen`s first clean sheet in seventeen competitive games!

Despite a brace from recent signing Lewis Powell, Evesham United bowed out, losing 3-2 at home to Evo-Stik League South West rivals Cirencester Town.

In an entertaining game, Bennett scored twice in a minute midway through the second half to add to Ben Whitehead`s effort to send Ciren through.

A goal from Sam Adams in the 16th minute earned Bostik League South side Hastings United victory at Ship Lane against Bostik North hosts Romford.

However, the tie between Bostik South Thamesmead Town and Bostik North high-flyers AFC Hornchurch goes to a replay after a 1-1 draw at Dartford.

Mead led through experienced striker Paul Vines` early 7th minute effort until 15 minutes from time when sub Ross Wall grabbed the Urchins` leveller.
