Youthful Sudbury Make Trophy Progress

Wednesday`s only Buildbase FA Trophy Preliminary Round replay saw Bostik League North side AFC Sudbury triumph 2-1 at Thame against Evo-Stik league South East outfit Aylesbury United.

Tyriq Hunte, who bagged a brace in the original tie which ended 2-2 last Saturday, scored again to give the Ducks an early 6th minute lead.

But they failed to make the most of that, and on 39 minutes, Sudbury were back on level terms through recent signing Jake Clowsley.

A youthful visiting side, containing seven of last season’s academy side, survived some second half pressure from the Ducks before another of recently-appointed boss Mark Morsley’s new signings, Jamie Eaton-Collins, made it 2-1 in the 65th minute.

And the Suffolk side held firm to earn an away tie against Bostik Premier side Metropolitan Police on October 28th.
