Dring Takes Selby Helm

Baris Northern Counties East League Division One’s bottom side Selby Town have appointed Ian Dring as manager.

The former Nottingham Forest, Mansfield Town, Maltby Main, Parkgate and Garforth Town striker Dring, who has also managed Rossington Main, has taken over after Phil Jones left the club earlier this month, has wasted no time in preparing his new squad and is recruiting players to help the Robins get out of the relegation zone.

But, his task cannot start any harder as they visit table-toppers Athersley Recreation on Saturday.

Meanwhile, the vandalised boilerhouse at the Rigid Group Stadium last week prevented the game against Askern Villa from going ahead at the weekend.

First quotes for the repair are coming in around £6,000 with the next home game for Selby scheduled for 8th December against Bottesford Town.
