Dutton Strengthens Sphinx Squad

Stuart Dutton, manager of Midland League Premier Division club Coventry Sphinx, has been busy adding depth to his squad.

Many areas of the squad have been strengthened with the addition of a full-back, a centre-back, a midfielder and a striker.

Lewis Hudson is a young, attacking left-back who arrives after a brief spell at Coventry Copsewood.

Previously, 18-year-old Hudson has played for Rugby Town and Coventry United after developing with the Gordon Strachan Foundation.

Well-travelled Edi Appleton is a 31-year-old central defender who joins the club from league rivals Quorn.

The experienced defender has also had spells at Notts County, West Bromwich Albion, Hinckley United, Oadby Town, Stamford AFC, Bedworth United, Rugby Town, AFC Rushden & Diamonds and Corby Town as well as in Thailand for Samut Prakarn.

Pierce Kiembi is an attacking midfielder who arrives from Evo-Stik Northern Premier League First Division South side Chasetown.

The 27-year-old German has also played for Bedworth, Daventry Town and Worcester City.

Shammai Williams is a 19-year-old striker who comes into the squad after a spell at Nuneaton Town`s under-19 side.

He is a strong and fast striker with quick feet, who was originally at Coventry City.
