Trafford, who are looking to bounce back from missing out on the play-offs last season, had a tough start to the new Evo-Stik League North campaign when losing 2-1 at Shawe View to newly-promoted South Shields.

Trafford have added no less than eleven new signings in the summer as they look to build a squad that is capable of making those play-off places.

Two familiar faces return to Trafford in the form of Steve Mason and Tom Schofield, who fans will be delighted to see back.

Mason arrives back at Shawe View having been away with Evo-Stik League Premier neighbours Ashton United.

The defender made just shy of 200 appearances in his first spell with Trafford, winning multiple player of the year awards whilst at Shawe View.

All-round central midfielder Schofield re-joins from Colwyn Bay.

Schofield made his debut in 2012 against Sheffield FC and has gone on to make ninety-two appearances and scored 2 goals.

Schofield has also had previous spells with Curzon Ashton and Witton Albion.

Manager Tom Baker also added two more late signings in Finlander Pauli Loukola from Finish side IF Gnistan and Brian Summerskill from Evo-Stik League Premier new boys Stalybridge Celtic.

Twenty-three-year-old Loukola is attending Salford University and has also played for HJK Helsinki and Klubi-04 in his homeland.

Summerskill is an experienced 25-year-old midfielder whose previous clubs include Northwich Victoria, Altrincham, Glossop North End, The New Saints and Crewe Alexandra.
