Bostik League North club Heybridge Swifts have signed versatile James Baker after his departure from Bostik Premier side Harlow Town.
Baker is a central defender who also has a very good goalscoring record as a striker at previous clubs.
He played over 300 games for AFC Sudbury and netted 97 goals and also had spells at Braintree Town, Billericay Town, Eastleigh, Chelmsford City and Welling United.
He also netted one goal for the Hawks this season.
Heybridge manager Jody Brown told his club`s official website: “James is a quality player who has regularly featured in the Ryman teams of the year.
“And he played over a 100 games with Ryan Henshaw at Sudbury so that understanding could be very useful for us.
“His ability to play up front also offers us cover for Luke Callander and Matt Price but he is not here as a utility man, he is a quality centre-half”.
