Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Premier club Folland Sports have announced the appointment of Carl Bennett as manager.

Bennett was appointed as Alex Pike`s assistant at Evo-Stik League South Premier strugglers Gosport Borough in December after parting company with Follands` league rivals Whitchurch United.

Formerly in charge at Romsey Town, he had been in charge at Whitchurch since the summer of 2014.

He guided the Jam Boys to sixth in the Wessex Premier in his first season – their highest ever finish.

Bennett took over the Romsey helm in October 2013, stepping up from the assistant-manager’s role.
