Rob Small, manager of Bostik League North promotion-chasers Bowers & Pitsea, has followed up the arrival of striker Jeff Cobblah from Essex Senior League side Clapton with the return of forward Shomari Barnwell.
Barnwell has re-joined Bowers following his release from Bostik South side Ashford United.
Barnwell’s first spell at the Len Salmon Stadium saw the forward make fifteen appearances before he was signed by Vanarama National League outfit Dagenham & Redbridge.
But he is now delighted that he is back and can’t wait to be part of the Bowers promotion push.
Barnwell told the club`s official Pitchero website: “I’m buzzing to be back and can’t wait to get back with the boys. I want to get straight in with the hard-work and score the goals to help the team reach the end of season target. Fire in the belly, head in the freezer. They’ll remember the name!”
On the return of Barnwell, Small said: “He’s had more downs than ups since his move to Dagenham but he is hungry to prove people wrong. We are confident that we can get him back on track. He’s someone we trust to join the group and be as hungry as we are for success. We are really pleased to bring him home.”
On Jeff Cobblah, Small said he knew what he was getting from the former Clapton striker. He said: “Jeff is someone I have been tracking since early in the season when he scored a couple of goals against Ilford. I’ve watched him progress and continue to score goals, and with Johnny Ashman having shoulder surgery, we moved quickly to bring Jeff to the club.
“He’s a young man with limited experience of senior football, but he’s proven himself as a goalscorer at Essex Senior level. Now he has a great opportunity to step up and help us move our little club forward”.
