Bulls Favourite Purdie To Retire

Evo-Stik League South Premier champions Hereford FC’s Rob Purdie has announced that he is to retire at the end of this season.

Recently he joined the Fire Service and, because of this commitment, he feels it would be difficult to continue playing for the Bulls.

The 35-year-old started his career with home-town club Leicester City and in between three spells with the `old` Hereford United club he turned out for Darlington, Oldham Athletic, Shrewsbury Town and Tamworth and has made over 300 appearances in total for the Bulls and won two England C caps.

Purdie has been an excellent servant to both Hereford FC and Hereford United and there are many supporters who will hope that he will continue to be seen at Edgar Street in some capacity.
