Barwell have announced that Matt Stenson has put pen-to-paper on a contract with the Evo-Stik League Premier club.
Manager Jimmy Ginnelly was delighted to see Stenson join new permanent arrival from Vanarama National League North neighbours Nuneaton Town, Brady Hickey, in signing their contracts during a team bonding session on Saturday afternoon, as the fixture against Stafford Rangers was postponed.
“They’re both massive players inside this group of players that have taken us into a top ten league position, which is fantastic for a club of our size,” Ginnelly told the club`s official Pitchero website. “I’d like to thank the chairman, Dave Laing, for his full support on these two contract decisions. I’m now going to be asking him to put a few more of this group of players on a contract as I’d like to start planning for next season.
“I will be speaking to one or two of the other lads over the next couple of days and weeks about signing them up on a contract.
“With Saturday’s game being cancelled due to the weather, Guy Hadland and I took the opportunity to get all of the lads in for a team bonding session at the clubhouse. It was a great afternoon!”
