Working late into Friday night, Steve Cunningham, manager of Evo-Stik League North club Colne, has completed the loan signing of striker Josh Amis from Evo-Stik League Premier side Altrincham.
Former Preston North End and Stockport County player Amis joined Alty in July this year but due to an appendix operation wasn’t available to make his debut until September when he came on as a late substitute in the Emirates FA Cup at Shildon.
With Altrincham currently sitting top of the Premier table, Amis has taken the opportunity to team up again with another Altrincham loanee, Sean Miller.
Amis said: “I heard very good things about the club from Sean Miller, who is also playing on loan from Altrincham, so when I looked at the options this one stood out as an interesting opportunity. I spoke to the manager and it sounded like a place that would suit my situation the best. I am working hard to regain full fitness but need more game time and with the lads at Alty doing very well, this gives me a great chance to get my game back to the level needed to reclaim my starting position.
“Sean Miller has expressed very positive feedback about the club, the players and Manager and I am looking forward to helping Colne F.C. over the loan period and hopefully score a few goals in the coming matches.”
With the paperwork completed, Amis will be available for today’s game against Radcliffe Borough at the Utility Renewals Stadium.
