Thurlow Nunn League Division One club Diss Town have signed well-travelled midfielder Declan McAvoy.

McAvoy has a good playing back ground at a high level of football.

McAvoy started out in Scotland with Hamilton Academical and then had spells with the likes of Alloa Athletic and then Scottish non-League sides St Andrews, Lanark United, Bo`Ness United and Livingston United before moving `down south` to Farnborough in the summer of 2015.

The 26-year-old moved to East Anglia with his family after father Frank McAvoy became assistant-manager to Alex Neil at Norwich City.

McAvoy turned out for Wroxham and Great Yarmouth Town before being signed by King`s Lynn Town in July 2016.

A former KID boxing champion, winning the Scottish youth light welterweight title, he departed back to Yarmouth last summer citing a change in personal circumstances and having played in Lynn’s pre-season friendlies.
