AFC Rushden & Diamonds have completed two new signings ahead of Saturday’s opening game of the Evo-Stik League South East season against Hanwell Town at newly-refurbished Hayden Road.
Diamonds have snapped up defender Blaize Punter and Fernando Bell-Toxtle after both impressed manager Andy Peaks in pre-season friendlies.
Punter, 20, Punter joined Mansfield Town in the summer of 2014 before moving to Nuneaton Town in the summer of 2015 to join the club’s under-21s.
In 2015, he spent a period at on dual registration terms at Barwell before joining the Canaries on a permanent basis.
During his time at Barwell, he also spent time on loan at Midland League side Quorn, a team he then joined briefly in the summer of 2016 for a second period.
In August 2016, he joined Kettering Town before, in October 2016, he switched to Rugby Town.
Punter was called up by Antigua & Barbuda for the first time in 2016 and made his full international debut as a substitute in October 2016 in a 2017 Caribbean Cup qualification third round group 3 match against Puerto Rico.
Bell-Toxtle was released by SkyBet League Two side Cambridge United at the end of last season.
He failed to make any first-team appearances for the U`s, but spent time out on loan with Evo-Stik League South Premier side St Neots Town last season, playing seventeen times and scoring once for the Saints.
