Coventry Sphinx have announced that manager Stuart Dutton and his assistant Scott Furlong have both left the Midland League Premier Division club with immediate effect.

All parties have agreed it was the right thing to do for the benefit of the football club.

Club chairman, Dannie Cahill said: “Both Stuart and Scott have worked tirelessly in the last couple of seasons for which we are all truly grateful but with recent poor results we all decided that it was time for a change. Great credit must go to them both for putting the club first and we wish them both every success in whatever they decide to do in the future.”

The club moved quickly to secure the services of their new manager.

Lee Knibbs returns to the club having already served time as the assistant to Danny McSheffery back in 2012.

Knibbs will take up all first-team matters immediately and is now focused on today’s home game against South Normanton Athletic.
