Sam Wilkinson, manager of Evo-Stik League South club Lincoln United, has brought in experienced central midfielder Steve Ridley.

Ridley started at Scunthorpe United. This was followed by spells at Barrow AFC, Buxton, North Ferriby United, Scarborough Athletic and a brief spell at Bottesford Town.

More recently he was playing at Ossett Town where he was also assistant-manager, reaching the play-offs last year in the Evo-Stik North.

On the new acquisition, Wilkinson told the club`s official Pitchero website: “I’m delighted with the signing.

“He will bring a lot of experience to this young squad.

“His talking on the pitch will help the young players.

“He is very competitive, but can also get on the ball and get us playing.

“I feel the time is right to strengthen and improve the team, and bringing in Steve will do this”.

Ridley will be available to make his debut for The Whites against Alvechurch on January 20th.
