Evo-Stik League Premier club Stafford Rangers have moved quickly to replace departed striker Richard Gregory by bringing in experienced forward Karl Hawley.
The 35-year-old joins Boro from Vanarama National League North side Boston United after a career that has seen him score goals consistently in the Football League.
Born in Walsall, Hawley made his name at Carlisle United, for whom he made more than 100 appearances, scoring more than 50 goals.
He also helped them to back-to-back promotions from the Conference to League One.
Before joining Carlisle, Hawley was at Walsall and Hednesford Town and also had spells with Preston North End, Notts County, Scunthorpe United and Torquay United.
Hawley joined the Pilgrims in January 2017 following a short spell with Stafford`s league rivals and neighbours Rushall Olympic.
He joined Boston in a playing and coaching capacity, having been on former boss Adam Murray’s staff at Mansfield Town, and took over as caretaker-manager when Murray left the club in October.
