Experienced midfielder Max Porter has signed for Bostik League North club on loan from Vanarama National League South neighbours Chelmsford City.

Porter has joined Park Drive initially on a month`s loan, and his arrival is a real coup for Jammers boss Kevin Horlock after his signature was much sought after by several other Bostik North clubs.

Porter has featured for several clubs throughout his career including Newport County, AFC Wimbledon, Barnet, Rushden & Diamonds and Southend United.

He has also featured for England C, appearing seven times and scored 2 goals – he even captained the side on four occasions.

Alongside his playing career, Porter is currently an academy coach at Arsenal, where he is responsible for the training, performance and development of the under-9 age group.

His wealth of experience will be a huge asset to Horlock’s side as the Jammers look to cement their place in and amongst the promotion places.

It is hoped that he will be available for tomorrow`s fixture against Grays Athletic.
