Evo-Stik League South play-off chasers Alvechurch have signed winger Omar Haughton from Sligo Rovers.

Haughton joined Sligo in July 2017 on a contract until the end of the season.

He signed for the Bit o’ Red following two seasons with Port Vale and a short-term spell with Evo-Stik League Premier side Stafford Rangers.

The 20-year-old started his career with Vale and had spells out on loan with Alvechurch`s league rivals Newcastle Town and Leek Town in 2015/16.

As the 2015/16 season drew to a close, Haughton was released by the Valiants at the end of his deal and seemed set to move away from Vale Park.

However, following the arrival of new manager Bruno Ribeiro, he was re-signed in July 2016.
