Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Premier Division club Bedfont Sports have announced the coup signing of Addison Garnett after his release from SkyBet League Two side Crawley Town

Twenty-one-year-old Garnett is no stranger to the club though. As a youngster, Garnett skippered Bedfont Eagles before signing for Queens Park Rangers.

After being released from Loftus Road, Garnett went to the USA to begin a sport scholarship with Missouri State Bears in April 2015.

In February 2016 he returned to England and, because it was outside the transfer window, signed for Bostik League Premier outfit Hendon.

He then signed for Crawley as a professional in the summer of 2016, having trialled with Carlisle United.

He made four first-team appearances last season but has been restricted to Sussex Senior Cup games this season.

Earlier this season, Garnett had a loan spell in the Vanarama National League South with Whitehawk, making six appearances.

His current contract was due to expire at the end of the season, but was released by Crawley last month, with the club`s head coach Harry Kewell saying at the time: “Addison needs to go and get regular games. We both know that, so this is the right solution for both parties. We wish him all the best for the future and thank him for his efforts at the club.”

Garnett has agreed to join Sports until the end of the season in a bid to help his boyhood club gain promotion from the Combined Counties Premier.

He could make his debut for Sports tomorrow in a tough away trip to Horley Town.
