Gosport Borough have announced the re-signing of Ben Wright from Evo-Stik League South Premier rivals Basingstoke Town on loan.

Since starting out at Basingstoke, Wright, 29, did the rounds with the likes of Peterborough United, Crawley Town, Braintree Town, Forest Green Rovers, Havant & Waterlooville and Salisbury City.

While on loan from Salisbury, his goals were instrumental in getting Eastleigh across the line in the 2013/14 Conference (National League) South title fight.

He originally joined Gosport in June 2016 from then-Vanarama National League South rivals Maidenhead United and signed a two-year deal at the Aerial Direct Stadium.

Wright made thirty-four appearances, scoring 10 goals in which the club was relegated from the National League South.

The prolific striker has scored 10 goals so far this season whilst playing for Basingstoke and goes straight into the squad for tonight`s encounter away at Bishop’s Stortford.
