Hitchin Town have announced the signing of Jimmy Hartley from Evo-Stik League Premier rivals St Ives Town.
Hartley is a 22-year-old winger or striker who made nineteen appearances for St Ives this season, scoring 7 goals, including the opener in the 2-2 draw at Top Field in September.
He joined the Saints from Evo-Stik League South East side Barton Rovers where he helped the club reach the play-off final last season.
He impressed St Ives manager Ricky Marheineke on a number of occasions when he saw him during the season, not least in the Challenge Cup tie against the Ives where he was the star man.
He is a player who has that vital ability to make something out of nothing and is comfortable playing on either side of a four-man midfield or in a front three.
He recently left St Ives due to the distance he was having to travel.
Good signing. Excellent for Barton last year.
