Manager Lee Hodges gave his verdict on Truro City`s set-back at Chippenham Town in the Vanarama National League South on Saturday.
The White Tigers slipped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat at Hardenhuish Park following a disjointed display which leaves them just two points in front of eighth-placed Braintree Town in the race for the play-offs.
“Any defeat is disappointing, especially at this stage of the season,” Hodges told the club`s official Pitchero website. “We did okay in the first half; we were on the front-foot but couldn’t find that cutting edge.
“It was a kick in the teeth to concede that goal right on the stroke of half-time. It came as a result of our own sloppy play and goals do change games.
“We had chances in the second half but it was not to be and they managed to kill the game off towards the end.
“It’s important that we focus on responding in the right way on Tuesday now.
“There are a dozen points still to play for and I want to see us pick up as many as possible and see where it takes us.
“Every game is bigger than the last and tomorrow we face a Hungerford Town team that need the points to cement their place at this level for next season.
“Both teams have something to play for and we have to make sure that we want it more than they do.
“It would be nice to see and large and vocal crowd in attendance to cheer us on and give the boys the backing that they deserve”.
