Hallmark Security club First Division club Atherton LR have appointed Warren Jones as their new manager.

This means the club has parted company with club’s interim boss David Potter.

Potter has been with the club since last season when he joined LR as an assistant-manager to Shaun Lynch, who left three weeks ago after being appointed during last season.

A statement from the club reads: “We would like to thank Dave and his team for their time and commitment to the club. Dave brought a very professional attitude to the club and added quality to the playing squad and we thank him for all of it and wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

Jones was formerly the assistant-manager to Michael Clegg at neighbouring Evo-Stik League North outfit Atherton Collieries.

He was also LR’s assistant-manager when Clegg took over the club in recent years.
