Lancing United Pull Out Of Southern Combination League

It has been confirmed that Lancing United have withdrawn their team from Southern Combination League Division Two and consequently all results have been expunged.

Officials accepted a letter from United acting secretary Glenn Souter outlining their intentions to pull the club’s first-team out of the league.

Chairman Ron George stepped down from his post last Friday and it left the club unable to run both current first and reserve sides.

Lancing United were promoted from the West Sussex League less than two seasons ago, but George`s departure has meant running two teams was extremely difficult as he dealt with the administration and matchday organisation for the first-team and without any willing volunteers continuing to run both teams would be difficult.

The club have also suffered from a lack of commitment from certain players, making it difficult to field teams some weeks, and with hefty fines accruing from forfeiting games, as well as fines for indiscipline piling up, the decision to fold the first-team was reluctantly made.
