Leatherhead have pulled off a big transfer coup by signing striker Jack Midson.
The forward is the former AFC Wimbledon team-mate of the club’s new manager Sammy Moore.
The Fetcham Grove manager has convinced his close friend to drop out of the National League and into the Ryman Premier.
Midson played last season for Braintree Town and has also had spells with Barnet, Oxford United and Histon.

The 33-year-old joins and chairman Richard Brady thinks Moore’s appointment as player boss could bring about big things.
“The board were very fortunate to have so many high level applicants apply during the process but Sammy’s enthusiasm coupled with his coaching badges and football knowledge made him a standout candidate,” he said.
“We were keen to create continuity after the previous successful regime and Sammy is committed to the club with ambition to move us forward as a club. He is very keen to learn his trade and has already began the important role of recruitment.
“I personally look forward to working with Sammy and know that with all our support he will be welcomed in to create the best environment possible encouraging success within our means.”
