Former Brighouse Town midfielder Danny Naidole has returned to the Evo-Stik League North club.

Naidole, who scored 53 goals for the club in 132 appearances, returns from Toolstation Northern Counties East League Division One side Yorkshire Amateurs, adding fire power to Vill Powell’s side.

Naidole stated unfinished business was the main reason for his return, telling the club`s official Pitchero website: “I had a lot of regret leaving last time but It was mainly down to me and my personal circumstances didn’t help so it was best for me and the club at the time to separate. I’ve always felt I needed to come back to Brighouse because there was some unfinished business as I feel I left too soon last time. So, my main goal is to push us further up the table.”

Another reason for re-joining the club was the prospect of playing under the new management.

“It wasn’t straight forward re-joining as a lot has changed at Brighouse with the new manager, new players and the improvements to the club,” he added. “Obviously speaking to Vill helped my decision as he comes across honest and knows what he wants, that is something I need and I am sure Vill will help my game improve as he was attacking player too.”

On the club’s current league standings, Naidole hopes his goals will win the club games: “I’ve seen the league table and we are in the bottom half with the next few fixtures playing teams around us so points are vital. Goals wins games so I’m hoping I can improve the attacking power by scoring and assisting. I know we are young side, so I hope I can bring abit of experience too even though I’m still young!”

Naidole scored 23 goals in the successful 2013/14 season which saw Brighouse gain promotion to the Evo-Stik North for the first time in the club`s history.

Naidole, known for his trademark set-pieces, was a popular figure amongst fans and team-mates at the club during his first spell.

Injury problems limited game time during the club`s inaugural season in the NPL.

After leaving the club, he joined Huddersfield YMCA in the West Riding County League where he hit an impressive 53 goals in thirty-three games.

This led to a move across the M62 to Leeds-based Yorkshire Amateur.

Powell was delighted to get the signing over the line: “I’m excited to work with Danny as he adds strength to our attacking and midfield options. Danny is an exciting player who knows Brighouse well as he’s one of the reasons Brighouse are in the Evo-Stik”.
