Now Whight Makes AFC Sudbury Switch

Hot on the heels of the Adam Mills/Billy Holland swap, Joe Whight has now agreed to leave Bostik League Premier club Needham Market and link up with former Marketmen manager Mark Morsley at Bostik North side AFC Sudbury.

Whight joined Needham in February 2015 from Bury Town and went on to win the Ryman North title that season.

The approach for Whight was made at the same time as the Mills/Holland switch and after meetings with the Marketmen manager, it was decided that he would also make the move to Sudbury.

Needham Market boss Richard Wilkins said: “Joe felt he would like to play at centre-back and Mark was offering this as well as a new challenge for him.

“I feel with the option of a new signing, which I hope to announce imminently, it was a good move for both parties and I also feel due to the options I have in this position, it gives me the opportunity to slightly re-shape the squad before our next game at Hendon”.
