Soham Town Rangers have seen one player return to the Bostik League North club, with another leaving as Sam Mulready re-joins following a spell with Evo-Stik League South side Corby Town, whilst Joe Bennett has signed for Thurlow Nunn Leaguers Haverhill Rovers.
Mulready originally arrived at Julius Martin Lane in January 2017 from St Neots Town, scoring 9 goals in the final seventeen games of the season, including a brace in the 4-3 home win against Maldon & Tiptree on the final day to help the club avoid relegation.
The Greens were keen to retain the strikers` services for the new season. However, he opted to sign for the Steelmen, scoring 10 goals in the first half of the season before leaving just before Christmas.
Mulready started his career at Grimsby Town before going onto have spells with a number of clubs, including Gainsborough Trinity, Brigg Town, Boston United, King`s Lynn Town and Stamford AFC, and came off the bench to make his second debut in Saturday’s 5-0 home win against Hertford Town.
Leaving Soham is midfielder Joe Bennett, who has signed for Haverhill Rovers, and made his debut during Friday night’s 4-4 draw with Saffron Walden Town.
The midfielder signed for the Greens at the start of the season from neighbours Newmarket Town, having joined the Jockeys in the summer from Potters Bar Town, making thirteen appearances for the Greens in his short stay at the Lane.
Nice to be back in the mix today and winning 5-0, boys when unreal 🔥
