Evo-Stik League South Premier club Kettering Town have announced that flying winger or striker Rhys Hoenes has signed for the coming season.

Hoenes first came to the Poppies attention as part of the Barton Rovers side that got the better of them three and a half seasons ago and have been keeping an eye on him since.

Having enjoyed a goal-laden spell at Royston Town, Hoenes moved to Vanarama National League South side St Albans City before ending the season at Kettering`s league rivals Biggleswade Town.

Meanwhile, Nathan Hicks has committed to the Poppies for the forthcoming season.

Hicks made fifty-two appearances last season (the most by any player) and scored 5 goals.

He is an instrumental member of the new-look squad.

Hicks follows, Dominic Langdon, Gary Mulligan, Aaron O’Connor and Brett Solkhon who all committed themselves to the club for the 2017/18 season last week.

All award winners in recent seasons, Solkhon is only thirty games away from a landmark 500 appearances for the club.

O`Connor was the leading goalscorer last season and also voted as the players` player of the season, while Langdon won the Directors player of the season for 2016/17 and Mulligan was the fans` player of the season and the vice-presidents player of the season for 2015/16.
