Cinderford Town have announced the signing of centre-back Nick Rhodes from Evo-Stik League South West rivals Evesham United.

Rhodes returns to the Causeway for his third spell at the club.

Having been part of the Foresters` title-winning side two seasons ago, Rhodes also came back last season before an ankle injury and then some time travelling ended his spell with the club.

Chairman Stuart Tait told the club`s official Pitchero website: “It gives me the greatest of pleasure to announce the signing of Nick Rhodes. As many of you are aware he was part, and an important one at that, in our Title winning side in the 2015/16 season. As long as the paperwork goes through today you will all have the chance to welcome him back at tonight’s match vs Larkhall. ”

Manager Paul Michael was also pleased to welcome Rhodes back: “I’m delighted that we have managed to sign Nick from Evesham. He is an outstanding player who reads the game exceptionally well, he organises players around him; Nick is a defender first and foremost, but he is also excellent on the ball. More than all that Nick is the right character to fit in with our group, he has a passion for the club and shares our long-term goals. I can’t wait to start working with him and see him back out on the Causeway in black & white stripes”.
