Sheers Doing Well On The Field – Despite Ground Uncertainties

Sheerwater Football Club currently sit proudly atop the Cherry Red Records Combined Counties League Division One, after going eleven games unbeaten.

It has been a great start to the season for The Sheers, but the great work which has been put in place by the team might be for nothing if there is no progress made on their new ground – which is due to open next season at the Bishop David Brown School.

Sheerwater have already stated that this season will be the last one at their Recreation Ground, due to the redevelopment of the Sheerwater area, and they must have a new ground ready for the 2018/19 or it could be curtains for the club which will celebrate their 60th birthday next year.

A recent Woking News & Mail story first shone a light on New Vision Homes inactivity with regards to building Sheerwater a new ground, and with the clock already ticking, it seems likely that Sheerwater will have to sort this issue out pretty quickly with them in order that they can continue as members of the Combined Counties League for years to come.
