AFC Totton manager Louis Langdown has reached an agreement with Aldershot Town for their 17-year-old 6`2” centre-half Jack Barker, who arrives at the Evo-Stik League South West club on a dual registration basis.
Langdown told the club`s website: “If Jack does as well for us as Matt Bozier did last season then we will be delighted!”
Bozier made his first-team debut as a substitute in Aldershot’s match at home to Solihull Moors in the Vanarama National League last Saturday.
Barker has previously been on loan to Fareham Town in the Sydenhams Football League (Wessex) Premier.
The next logical step in his development will be to see how he does in the Southern League.
The addition of Barker is much-needed with the Stags small squad currently stretched to the limit. Dave Allen and Jack Masterton are both currently injured. On top of this Callum Chugg and Charlie Gunson are missing through suspension and Stuart Mott has had to return to the army.
The addition of Barker will give the Stags a timely boost as they head into this weekend`s home league game with Yate Town at The Total Branding Community Stadium.
