Evo-Stik League South club Stamford AFC have signed vastly experienced forward Lee Clarke.

Clarke, who is the son of former Northern Ireland international Colin, joins the Daniels after leaving Evo-Stik League South Premier side St Neots Town in search of more regular game-time at the end of September.

The 34-year-old was player-coach with the Saints and left with a glowing reference from manager Matt Clements: “I would personally like to thank Lee for his class, experience, attitude and efforts in my time here. The word legend is banded around far too easily at times, but in this case, he definitely is a St Neots Town legend and the door will always be open at this club for him.”

Clarke brings a wealth of experience to the Daniels ranks.

He joined Peterborough United after starting his career with ChromaSport & Trophies United Counties League side Yaxley before enjoying spells in the Conference (National League) South with St Albans City and Welling United.

He previously won five caps for Northern Ireland under-21s.
