Evo-Stik League South Premier club Weymouth have signed defender Toby Down and goalkeeper Mark Travers on long-term loans
Down joins the Terras from Sky Bet League Two side Exeter City.
He played for the Terras last season in a month-long loan, and after his spell at the Bob Lucas Stadium, he saw out the rest of the season on loan at local rivals Dorchester Town.
Weymouth assistant-manager Paul Maitland said: “Toby made a big impression at the club when he came on loan last season. He is keen to come back and he’s grown as a player. He is used to working in the way we want to work. We would like to thank Exeter City for allowing us to take Toby on this long-term loan and for letting us work with him throughout the pre-season schedule.”
Travers arrives from Premier League side AFC Bournemouth on a long-term loan.
The talented young stopper, previously on the books at Shamrock Rovers and Lucan United, comes to the club as part of the Cherries’ under-21 squad and worked with Terras’ boss Mark Molesley last term.
Travers, who has represented the Republic of Ireland at youth level, signed with the Cherries in July 2016 having impressed during a trial period at the club.
