Biggleswade Town, who will be members of the new Evo-Stik Southern League Central next season, have announced the signing of defender Tom Smith.
The 24-year-old central defender joined Hayes & Yeading United during the summer of 2017 from Barton Rovers to join twin brother Jack.
He had been the defensive rock of a Rovers side who narrowly missed out on promotion to the Southern Premier in the 2016/17 season after finishing third.
He started out with Harpenden Town before moving to London Colney where he made in excess of 100 appearances before moving on to Barton Rovers at the start of the 2016/17 season.
He was appointed club captain by Hayes & Yeading at the commencement of the last campaign but missed a large chunk of the season prior to Christmas due to injury.
New Waders manager Lee Allinson told the club`s Pitchero website: “Tom is a 6’3” centre-back who will give a real presence in defence. I am very excited to have Tom agree to join us in my new side as he is a real winner with a great attitude.”
Biggleswade also announced the return of forwards Liam Brooks and George Bailey next season.
Brooks joined the Waders last November from league rivals Hitchin Town.
Brooks saw his game time limited with the Canaries after his return from a family holiday, coinciding with an upturn of form in the team`s results.
Brooks scored 7 goals for the Canaries in sixty-seven appearances since making his debut in October 2015.
Bailey is a young striker who was on the books at Stevenage before joining Biggleswade in 2016.
He had a spell on loan with local neighbours Biggleswade FC in the Spartan South Midlands League this past season.
Allinson said: “I’m delighted that Liam and George have both committed for next season. Both are young players with goalscoring potential and a great attitude. We are looking forward to working with them both”.
