Two New Mariners

Marine AFC have announced that two players have joined the Evo-Stik League Premier club and will be eligible for selection in tonight’s home game with Stalybridge Celtic.

Phil Baker, 34, is a vastly experienced central defender who joins from league rivals Warrington Town.

He moved to Cantilever Park in the summer after leaving Welsh Premier side The New Saints, where he won eight league title medals and also made more than thirty appearances in UEFA competitions.

He started in the Tranmere Rovers youth team before spells at Exeter City, Bangor City, Droylsden and Aberystwyth Town.

Dominic Marie is a 22-year-old striker who began his career at Winsford United before being snapped up by FC Halifax Town in February 2014.

He went on to have spells back at Winsford, New Mills, Bacup Borough, Witton Albion, Bootle, Skelmersdale United and Prescot Cables.
