Lincoln United, members of the Evo-Stik Northern Premier East next season, have announced the re-signing of defender Michael Jacklin.
Jacklin returns to the Whites after a spell with Gainsborough Trinity, relegated from the Vanarama National League North, signing a two-year contract.
On the return of Jacklin, manager, Sam Wilkinson told the club`s Pitchero website: “I’m delighted with securing Jaffa on a two-year contract.
“It’s a real statement that the club can attract players his calibre to the club.
“As soon as I met him I knew he didn’t want to come back just because the club is close to home. He’s coming back to achieve something from a personal and team perspective, and he is very hungry to do that.
“He sees the current squad as being very strong and with a couple more additions believes we can be right up there next season.
“His qualities are in every way what we want at the football club, both on the pitch as a player and off it as a person.
“He’s a leader in the dressing room and someone who strives for the best from himself and others around him.
“It was a huge blow when he left the club last time around at a crucial stage of the season. Had he stayed then I believe we would have secured a play-off spot that season.
“Having Jaffa back is a big lift for everyone involved at the club and we welcome him back with open arms.
“I know he worked very hard to prove himself in the National League North and established himself as a regular last season.
“I also know that we’ve got a better player than the one that left two seasons ago, a player who sees huge potential in the club and in himself.”
Wilkinson has verbally agreed with Kevin Hemagou, Jack Wightwick and Harry Millard to stay at Ashby Avenue to join Sean Wright, James Blunden, Kallum Smith, Scott Matthews, Rob Norris, Matt Cotton and Charlie Ward, who have already signed up.
