AFC Telford United have confirmed that defender Ryan Wilson has left the Vanarama National League North club to pursue a career in Australia.

Wilson joined from Evo-Stik League Premier side Matlock Town in September.

The 24-year-old left-back – son of former Chelsea striker Kevin Wilson – was a trainee at Stockport County before playing for Gateshead and Alfreton Town.

Wilson spoke to the club`s official website on his department from the club: “I would like to thank everyone involved with AFC Telford United for the past seven months for welcoming me into the club.

“It has been a pleasure and privilege playing under a top manager and staff and playing alongside a great bunch of lads. I know there is an enough quality and hard work in the dressing room to keep the club in the league.

“The fans need to keep on getting behind the team for the rest of the season and help push them over the line. I know the club will all pull together and get through this period”.
