SkyBet League One club Oxford United have completed the signing of 18-year-old goalkeeper Max Harris from Evo-Stik League South Premier side Hereford FC on a two-year scholarship.
Harris, who came up through the Hereford youth system, spent a week training with Aston Villa in August and last year represented both England Colleges and England Schools.
Harris excelled while on loan with Midland League neighbours Pegasus Juniors last season and made his debut for Hereford against Barnstaple Town in the Evo-Stik League South West last April.
Speaking to the official Hereford FC website, manager Peter Beadle said:
“Whilst we are sorry to see Max go, it is a great opportunity for him and one we could not get in the way of.
“He’s a great lad and I am sure he will do well at Oxford. I am sure everyone will join me in wishing him the best of luck for the future”.
