Vanarama National League North club AFC Telford United have announced the signing of young forward John McAtee from SkyBet League One side Shrewsbury Town.

The 18-year-old joins the Bucks on loan for the rest of the season.

McAtee joined Shrewsbury’s scholarship programme from Burnley in 2015.

Capable of playing out wide, in the number 10, or as a number nine, McAtee has natural ability on the ball as well as an eye for goal.

He made his Shrews debut as a late substitute against Oxford United on the final day of the 2016/17 season.

He has spent the first-half of this season on loan with Evo-Stik League Premier outfit Halesowen Town, scoring 6 goals.
