Hodges Promises City Will Cut Out Mistakes Following Stones Defeat

Lee Hodges have promised fans his team won’t keep making the same mistakes after a home defeat to Wealdstone last weekend.

Even though Truro City enjoyed a sparkling end to February, they have now lost 6 of their previous 8 matches.

Despite having a cushion, they are still looking over their shoulders at the Vanarama National League South bottom three.

Set pieces are Truro’s biggest problem and Hodges has vowed to get to the bottom of the issue this week in training.

“The last two matches we’ve lost because of set pieces,” Hodges said.

“We will touch on it, we will go through what cost us and we say no more – that isn’t going to happen again.”

“I think if you do too much when there’s a problem on the defensive side of it, I think everyone becomes a bit more panicky.

“Every time there’s a set-play, I think everyone will be starting to panic if you’re working on it 24/7,” he told BBC Cornwall.

Truro travel to Dartford on Saturday before a game with Poole, also chasing the playoffs. They end March with a huge game with Whitehawk, who sit just below them in the table.
