Vanarama National League South club Margate have announced that both manager Steve Watt and assistant-manager Steve Brown have extended their stay at the club for the 2017/18 season.

Both Watt and Brown signed new contracts until May 2018 as they prepare for nine big games which will determine what division the Blues play in next season.

After last Saturday`s 2-0 win over Gosport Borough the Gate sit ten points adrift of safety with nine games to go. However, Gate chairman Alistair Bayliss thinks now is the right time to secure their services heading into next season.

“I’m absolutely delighted that both Steven Watt and Steve Brown have signed new deals until the end of the 2017/18 season. This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone and as a club we can really push on now.”

Watt was pleased to extend his stay at Hartsdown Park beyond this summer: “I am delighted to have extended my stay here alongside Steve Brown and Mike Sandmann and we look forward to building a team that the fans, club and town can be proud of.

“No matter what division we find ourselves in next season I want to build a team that will be competitive”.
