The UEFA A licensed coach has been promoted to the role having previously held the position of reserve team manager at Trafford Park and then as assistant-manager for the first-team last season.

This is the latest step taken by Wroxham as they continue to improve the infrastructure at the club to ensure sustainability at Step 4 and beyond.

Eastaugh’s main responsibilities will be to create coordinated player recruitment, medical and player profiling that will impact on the progression routes for youth team players.

Eastaugh said: “I'm delighted the manager wishes to extend my remit and is allowing me responsibility to progress the clubs football development plan.

“The need for cohesion at all levels of the club is paramount in maintaining the good work that has already been started.

“Working in partnership with our colleagues at Old Catton Junior FC, significant building blocks are already in place for the development of young footballers.”

First-team manager David Batch has welcomed the arrival of a director of football for the first time in the club’s history. He said: “Growing this football club into the force we want it to be needs vision structure and quality people to implement those things.

“Steve has worked closely with me and the first-team for the last twelve months after a two year stint with the reserves and is well positioned to provide a measurable impact in this role.”

Chairman Martin Roberts said: “I am delighted with Steve's appointment. This is yet another step forward for Wroxham Football Club.

“The management structure is in place, and we will continue to go from strength to strength.

“I have no doubt whatsoever that Wroxham FC will be the team to watch going forwards into this new season and beyond.”
