Gary Ackling

....strengthened his backroom team by appointing Gary Ackling, previously manager of Thatcham Town, to work alongside him.

Bourne said: “I’ve known Acko for many years and he`s a good friend of mine.

“When he left Thatcham at the end of last season I was hoping from a selfish point of view he didn’t go into another job, as I always thought I could maybe tempt him to come in and help me out. So when I did ask him last week and he agreed I was delighted.

“I know he still wants a first-team job, so if something comes along he’ll be in for it, but until that time comes I will be using all his experience and knowledge at these levels to help improve the team and the football club.”

As well as Thatcham, Ackling has also been in charge of Hungerford Town, Milton United and Newbury.
