Albion’s inclusion into Baris Northern Counties East League Division One was passed at the league’s recent annual general meeting in Scarborough.
The players who have stepped up from the West Riding County Amateur League Premier Division are now in pre-season training and the management and staff cannot wait to get a team out on the pitch.
Albion manager Kulwinder Sandhu said: “Everything went fine at the AGM. We were voted in but we knew we would be after doing everything that had been asked of us.
“The players came back from their close season on Thursday, so it is all systems go.”
The club, who will be sharing Horsfall Stadium with Bradford Park Avenue in the coming campaign, have hurriedly put a pre-season schedule together but are still to confirm some friendly fixtures.
They are also aware of the mammoth task that lies ahead of them if they are to make the grade.
“It is a massive learning curve and we are already picking peoples’ brains,” said Sandhu.
“We are talking to people who have done what we are doing and other local clubs who are well-established on the football Pyramid.
“I think the first year will be the hardest because there is so much to learn but we are very excited by the prospect.
“This close season has been a difficult one for us but I’m delighted that the nucleus of the squad from last year has committed to the club again because that gives us that bit of continuity.
“We are hoping to bring some players in to strengthen our squad because we have stepped up a level and we want some warm-up games that will really test us. At this time of year you normally have all this done but our hands have been tied this time.
“We were only given the green light on which league we would be in last week and that made a difference to which ground we would be at. That is why we have been rushing around for the last couple of weeks but we think it has all come together.
“Ideally we want five friendly games and then we feel we can go into the season fully prepared. As long as we get a good pre-season done, we should be all right.
“All we are looking to do is consolidate in our first year. If we can that, we will be more than chuffed.”
