The former Brighton player linked up with Gary Wilson’s men earlier this month after a failed trial at npower League One outfit Leyton Orient.

He was on the bench for Boro’s FA Cup Second Qualifying Round tie at Waltham Forest but failed to turn up to training last week – with Wilson later finding out Battipiedi had decided instead to try his luck at league rivals Dover Athletic.

The 23-year-old links up with another former Brighton player Nicky Forster, who recently landed the manager’s job at Crabble.
