Mark Ashford has decided to call time of his stay as joins/assistant-manager at Bostik League North club Bowers & Pitsea.

The former Stansted boss joined Bowers in the summer.

Ashford informed manager Rob Small that he was stepping down from his role with the first-team. It was not a decision that Ashford took lightly, and was something he had given a lot of thought to over recent weeks.

A popular figure with the fans, Ashford is a UEFA A license coach and will be an asset to any club, either in a first-team management or assistant-management role.

Of the departure, manager Rob Small told the club`s official Pitchero website: “I would like to personally place on record my thanks to Mark.

“Mark and I share the same enthusiasm for the game, an insatiable appetite to work hard and a desire to progress in the game. I would like to see Mark given a chance in management, and would recommend him to any chairman”.
